What is the United Methodist Women? the United Methodist Women is the group of women in each congregation that is organized for the purpose of Mission. There is a focus on women and children.
Who is a member? Any woman who commits herself to the Purpose and chooses to belong is a member.
What is expected of a member? Members are expected to support the organizations programs through prayers, financial contributions and acceptance of leadership responsibilities.

2011 Events & Programs
Feb 2011 – ATN UMW joined many other UMW groups in Annapolis to participate in Advocacy Day where we visited our state representatives in an attempt to secure a positive vote on our legislative agenda and raise the awareness of the UMW social agenda.
May 2011 – ATN UMW hosted a seminar for Church Women United on Human Trafficking
Assisted with hosting a banquet for graduating Senior High school students.
ATN UMW participated in a program sponsored at the District level in conjunction with the Emergency Food Bank for Babies by providing over 100 items for newborns.
July 2011 - ATN UMW sponsored “Book Bags” for Public Schools where we donated school bags for elementary school children and children within our congregation.
ATN UMW also partnered with the youth in our congregation to raise “Pennies for Peace.”
This year ATN UMW were fortunate to send two members to the School of Mission in July.
September 2011 - ATN UMW celebrated anniversary
October 2011 – ATN UMW were recognized by the Annapolis District for their year’s accomplishments. Through undesignated giving, ATN UMW earned the “5-star unit,” which includes pledge to mission, special mission recognition, gift to mission, gift in memory and World Thanks Offering.
ATN UMW has also earned the recognition as a “Mission Today Gold Unit” for performing more than 13 predefined activities. In addition to the national, international and conference projects,
ATN UMW have provided local support to domestic violence and shelter programs, i.e., Susanna Wesley’s House and the Angel Tree program.
December 2011 - ATN UMW very active in assisting with Warm Nights (a winter relief program for the homeless) and the Angel Tree (providing gifts for disadvantaged children).
