Men's Ministries
There are a couple of ministry with a male-focus: The Johnson Male Chorus & The United Methodist Men.
Men's Choir
The Johnson Male Chorus is a 60 year-old male chorus. The original founder was Leonard Glenn, Sr. now deceased. His son Leonard Glenn, Jr. proceeds him in ministry. The male chorus have sung all over the state of Maryland, Delaware and beyond and are a well known group. They have produced several CDs to their credit. The members are very community oriented. Monthly, they minister and sing at different nursing home as well as to the sick and shut in.
The male chorus sing on 2nd Sundays.
The United Methodist Men
Many of the men are also hold membership in The United Methodist Men. Annually they sponsor a Martin Luther King Prayer breakfast to raise funds for scholarships to present to our graduating seniors. The UMM provide a fun day for the kids as they take them to the Baysox baseball game every year where they get to see the game from the sky box and get to eat as much food as they want. The kids have a ball and so do the men! The UMM also are very in touch with the the life of the church as well sending out congratulatory, get well, and bereavement cards, etc. and sometimes financial donations to members of the congregation.
Men's Bible Study
Thursdays at 7PM
Facilitator: Rev. Oliver Jennings, Sr.
Men's Bible study held every Thursday Classroom #1. (in event of double booking, go to classroom #2). This group is open to all who wish to come. You do not have to be a member of Asbury Town Neck UMC. Come explore the Word of God with other men sold out to learn as much as they can as they do all they can to model Jesus' example.
