Asbury Church Assistance Network - ACAN

The Asbury Church Assistance Network (ACAN) opened its doors (January of 2004) to local area families in crisis. ACAN was formed because of the concern on the part of the ministers in the Severna Park area with regard to the growing demand for emergency help, the need to identify the people seeking help, and a process to help those people in a dignified and expeditious manner. Before that, those needing assistance would be forced to go from church to church.

ACAN responds to those in need by providing food assistance of non-perishable goods, food cards to local grocery stores, etc. The network also enforces its policies in court ordered eviction protection as well as assistance with utilitity turn-off notices.

ACAN is making an impact on the impoverished local and surrounding areas.

Holiday Sharing
Sponsors are often solicited during the holiday seasons (Thanksgiving and Christmas) in assisting families with food baskets. Please consider sponsoring a Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas dinner, gifts for a family during these holidays. Cash donations and gift cards are also accepted.
